Overview
Signaline heat sensing cables are designed to sense heat and can be integrated into conventional or addressable fire alarm systems.
Signaline Heat Sensing cable is a highly cost effective maintenance free and easy to install method of fire protection that is the perfect alternative to traditional point detection. It is particularly useful in difficult to access and environmentally demanding applications.
Two types of heat sensing cables are available—Analogue and fixed temperature.
Signaline Analogue heat sensing cable is known as Signaline HD
Signaline Fixed temperature heat sensing cable is known as Signaline FT
Signaline HD detects a rise in temperature. This is achieved via the associated controller continually measuring the resistance within the cable. The controller will provide a Class C response in accordance with EN54 standard for heat detectors. Signaline HD does not need to be replaced once it has alarmed. Once the cable has cooled, it is completely resettable.
Other variant available:
Signaline HD-R—It comes with a standard PVC outer sheath. When the cable is likely to be exposed to oils, corrosive chemicals and gases or high levels of UV light. Signaline HD-R has the benefit of an extremely resilient additional nylon coating thus providing superb protection to the cable
Signaline HD-S—It is shielded with stainless steel braid, providing additional high mechanical protection to the cable. This cable is ideal for conveyers or escalators.
Signaline FT heat sensing cable are Fixed temperature cable which alarm at pre-set temperatures. The cable is constructed two spring steel conductors twisted together and individually insulated with a heat sensitive polymer.
Alarm temperature available are 68°C, 88°C, 6105°C
Signaline FT cables are easily integrated into both analogue addressable and conventional fire detection systems. With the use of a galvanic barrier, Signaline FT can become part of an intrinsically safe circuit offering low cost hazardous area heat detection.
